Health profile of high school teenagers at a school in minas gerais perfil de saúde de adolescentes do ensino médio de uma escola de minas gerais

Objective: to investigate the health profile of high school teenagers in a public school in a municipality in the interior of Minas Gerais. Methods: a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach was carried out, through a structured questionnaire with questions about sociodemographic data, lifestyle habits and search for the health service. Results and Discussion: 85 students with an average age between 16 and 17 years old participated in the research; prevalence of females, who live with their parents and have internet access, using computers, cell phones, TV, among others. They understand the importance of physical exercise and healthy eating. As for the search for health care, most prefer to search the internet or look for someone they know. Food and physical activity, not everyone practices it satisfactorily. The monthly income of each family is quite varied (from 1 to 7 minimum wages). Conclusion: The study allowed the visualization of the health and development of these teenagers and these data will be of great importance for their awareness of their lifestyle habits and for future interventions on health promotion and education. Through literature data, we confirm how important the link between school and health service is as a way of helping these teenagers, so the importance of the health professional working actively with this public is highlighted.
