This research was undertaken within the framework of the participative varietal selection of common bean, associating the agronomic research (INERA) and the peasants of Nkolo in Kongo Central province of DR-Congo. It was based on an evaluation and selection starting from thirty varieties of the germoplasm of the Antenna of the National Grain Legume Program (PNL) of the INERA in Mvuazi, and whose seven varieties were preselected by the peasants by taking account of the morpho metric characters, agronomic requirements, economic, organoleptic and of the consumers. The strategy of work aimed at the maintenance of the co-operation between researchers (in particular Breeders) and peasants, for the evaluation of the varieties of the germoplasm with an aim of developing a selection which take into account the country knowledge and the factors of the kind like a way of improvement of outputs and acceptance of the common bean crops by peasants. To this end, seven varieties (NGWAKU-NGWAKU, MOORE 88002, MVUAZI, NTOMO, MANSEKI, NK 011/08 and PVo 14), were considered to be very favorable by the peasants, in the equality of the kind and the capacities of the men and the women, for the development and the diffusion of the promising varieties to the peasants, of the grouping of Nkolo, the province and the area. Present research agreed the vocation to pose the first steps of this participative selection of the varieties of common bean with an aim of the maintenance true and durable of food safety and the reduction of the poverty of the populations target at the base.
