Development is the need for any country’s progress but not at the cost of livelihood of future generations. Industries are the bread and butter for our modern evolved country, and surplus hazardous toxic waste that comes out due to it, is continuous and unavoidable. Such hazardous toxic wastes are potentially harmful to the environment and human health if not treated well. Presently there are some cases which state that how industries emitting the hazardous toxic waste have affected the environment and the human life and Vedanta Copper Smelting Plant in Tuticorin is one of those cases. This paper gives an insight as to how the copper smelting plant has affected the lives of the people living in Tuticorin situated in Tamil Naidu.
