Research instrument on the knowledge of health professionals about patient safety in a public hospital in tocantins

Introduction: Patient safety can directly affect the quality of care provided and, although undesirable, incidents can configure opportunities for improvement, as it indicates a process that needs changes, with a focus on the performance of health teams. Objective: To develop an investigation instrument to identify the knowledge of health professionals about the occurrence of incidents related to patient safety. Materials and Methods: This is an exploratory, cross-sectional, descriptive design with a qualitative approach. For the development of the research instrument, an integrative review was carried out on the studies that applied some questionnaire and aimed to analyze the professionals' knowledge on the subject of patient safety. Results: The construction of the instrument had as its axis of investigation or the knowledge of the professionals about patient safety, more demanding, about the international objectives of patient safety, the importance of notification and the classification of incidents. Final Considerations: This study can identify and analyze research instruments already published for the research instrument of this study. The construction of an investigation instrument is a fundamental foundation for the implementation of future assertive actions in favor of patient safety in health services.
