The article aims to understand the relationships that make it difficult and impossible for transgender people to exercise their right to be, to live and to be respected like other citizens. Therefore, we sought to verify, through a bibliographic review, about gender discrimination and about transgender people, analyzing the reality of these people in Brazil, approaching through a qualitative evaluation data on schooling, employability, life expectancy and violence. Therefore, it was noticed that Brazil has been showing a significant increase in violence and murder against the transgender population and that the marginalization of the group is not something in the process of recession, despite the improvements achieved in recent years for LGBTQ populations, the nation still does not fully recognize individual and plural sexual and gender experiences, which, by contradiction, fall into the heteronormative system, and end up excluding from treatment transgender people who do not have socially idealized behaviors and bodies.
