Perfil epidemiológico da covid-19 emmato grossoe mato grosso do sul: maio de 2020

Objective: To investigate the incidence of COVID-19 according to sex, age group, and health professionals with suspicion and confirmation of the disease in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul between May 18 and 25, 2020. Method: Descriptive study, quantitative, with calculations of incidence of COVID-19 and distribution of the disease in the population and professional categories. Results: The incidence rate of COVID-19 was 43.1 cases/ 100,000 inhabitants in Mato Grosso do Sul, and 24.2/100,000 inhabitants in Mato Grosso. There were a greater number of cases in the population aged 30 to 39 years, a slightly higher distribution among men and a lower number of notifications among health professionals in the region. Conclusion: There was a specific pattern of dissemination of COVID-19 in the region and underreporting of the occupation of confirmed cases.
