The memory of association of physical education, sports and leisure professionals of the state of maranhão) – apefelma (1980-2000)

This research had the memory of the trajectory of Association of Physical Education, Sports and Leisure Professionals of the State of Maranhão- APEFELMA. To reconstruct its memory of creation and its interruption (1980-2000), to understand its contributions in the sports area.We sought to analyze the trajectory of APEFELMA and its implication in the constitution of the Maranhão sports development, interpreting facts, mechanisms of actions and productions for the consolidation in the sports field. It is a qualitative study with an approach to institutional social memory in the light of the concepts of Thompson (1981) and Bourdieu (2004, 2012). The analysis corpus was bibliographies, written documents and oral testimonies obtained from interviews with social agents, creators, members of boards and former presidents of APEFELMA. These data and interviews were collected within 2017/2018. In the analysis of the statements, the notes of Portelli (1997) and by Alberti (1989), who understands Oral History as a methodology. We have observed that the process of creating APEFELMA was based on the mobilization of UFMA physical education academics, professors and other professionals. This study was enlightening, insofar as it favored an understanding of the circumstances of the creation of the Association and its participation as the only representative of the category of physical education in the movement for professional regulation, besides demonstrating how much its social agents have contributed in these social spaces.
