Abstract: 

Introduction: The Intensive Care Unit is a complex sector due to the criticality of its patients, with severe and vulnerable conditions, requiring continuous monitoring and intensive care, thus, the team must ensure that such needs are met, it needs to perform and articulate different activities. and industry technologies in a way that assists in holistic patient care. Materials and Methods: This study is a qualitative descriptive literature review. It aims to describe the humanization of nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit. As inclusion criteria, the following were adopted: published in Portuguese, available for free and online, published in the last ten years and that addressed the proposed theme and objective. Results: Professionals must rethink their attitudes, seeking to guarantee the patient's dignity not only in procedures and care, but also in the work environment, in cultural aspects and in their subjectivity. Conclusion: The humanization of nursing care should be a priority not only in the ICU environment, but in all health environments.teams, all in accordance with the guidelines of health policies.
