Unprotected sexual intercourse lead to unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortions. Emergency contraceptives offer safe and effective emergency intervention. Study included both married and unmarried women of 18 – 40 yrs of age. A pre-validated questionnaire was used regarding knowledge of emergency contraceptive pill and its usage. 17% of the participants are aware of Emergency Contraceptive, 38% participants have knowledge regarding the correct timing of Emergency Contraceptive. 54% of the participants believe that Emergency Contraceptive is effective. There is urgent need for dissemination of information regarding proper use of emergency contraception in the society.
