Development and management of solar and wind hybrid technology for the progress of India

Abstract:

Energy is vital for sustaining life on earth. The scope of this paper is to study the working, sizing, optimization and control of solar-wind hybrid systems. A brief introduction to the optimization software tools namely Homer is also included. A virtual case study for designing a solar-wind hybrid system is considered. The results along with cost analysis are also presented. The case study verifies that solar-wind hybrid systems can prove to be a better option to replace the conventional sources of energy. These systems give better reliability, reduce pollution and are a good tool for the utility for demand side management. These type of non-conventional renewable hybrid technologies creates a path of clean development and progress of developing country like India.
