Objective: To analyze studies which deal with nursing assistance to women with breast cancer, under palliative care. Method: Integrative literature review carried out by means of scientific articles’ research based on LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE and EBSCOhost databases. 24 articles which dealt with palliative care of women with breast cancer were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: the data presented two thematic categories: category 1 – nursing care to women with breast cancer under palliative care, which brought to light reflections regarding nurses’ care practice focusing on the importance of an integral, humanized and qualified care, as well as on spirituality in this process; Category 2 – difficulties found by nurses during palliative care to women with breast cancer, highlighting: insufficient professional formation and qualification to the practice of palliative care, the problem of poor health services, stress and work overload. Conclusion: Considering this reality, it becomes clear the need for better theory-practice formation, and organizational and emotional support to these professionals for the proper care of women with breast cancer under palliative care.
