Objective: To evaluate the average oxygen uptake by vehicles of a Prehospital Care (APH) service located in Teresina - PI. Methodology: observational, descriptive, longitudinal and retrospective study of quantitative approach, developed in a PHC service, using a table with variables. Data were collected from August 2017 to August 2018. Results: The months of highest consumption were August and December 2017 and March 2018, accounting for 27.8% of consumption, thus also the most costly months. While January 2018 was the lowest with 5.8% of the total. The highest consumption was verified in the advanced car with 84%. Conclusion: Knowledge of O2 consumption and the costs involved is extremely important for management control of the work process, identifying possible actions that can be employed in order to achieve improvements.
