This paper aims to provide information for assessing the performance of R&D project portfolios of the Bioenergy Research Program (BIOEN) of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The projects evaluation is developed using methodologies for support on multiple-criteria decision processes. In this research, it was performed the construction, adaptation, and validation of methods evaluation, for which one of the challenges was to incorporate progress processes in multi-criteria analysis, which was used for the ordination of projects and their composition in project portfolios. The results obtained in this research resulted of the construction of six project portfolios, built after forms sent to industry experts and the use of multi-criteria analysis methodology. Thus, we can conclude that this work has contributed to evaluating the potential impacts of BIOEN program, generating information for decision making for business plan, which can be applied to BIOEN products and processes.
