This paper tries to address the parameter that affect the temperature in the building canyons of residential neighborhood of Nagpur city. The literature study shows that temperature in building canyon is influenced by neighbourhood geometry and aspect ratio. Experimental investigation by onsite measurements is used to find out the effect of aspect ratio on temperature. The findings reveal that due consideration is required while planning neighbourhoods and designing buildings to minimize the heat gain. Observations also suggest that close spacing of building can help maintaining less temperature in canyons during summer.
