Drug induced gingival enlargement is the most common cause of gingival enlargement in children. The drugs which are usually implicated are Anti-epileptic drugs like Phenytoin, Sodium Valproate, Calcium Channel blockers like Nifedipine and Verapamil. Phenytoin has been used for treatment of epilepsy in children since many decades inspite of the adverse effect of Gingival enlargement. Treatment of this enlargement mainly involves removal of local irritants and most importantly replacement of the offending drug. This case report throws light on a unique case of severe gingival enlargement in a special child.
