To the subject of Human Rights has been conferred many studies and approaches in the social dynamics of the Brazilian State.Because it is a relevant approach, this study has as its theme: literature and human rights: in search for the meaning, and as its purpose, to detect how human rights cross literary productions. For this, two works of our literature, O Quinze from Rachel de Queiroz and Vidas Secas from Graciliano Ramos were taken as means of analysis of one of the problems that most affect the lives of Brazilians: the violence in its material and symbolic aspects and, by consequence the violation of human rights. The work was guided based on the studies of Antonio Candido (2006); Chaui (1980); from the exposition of the three basic categories of analysis: Literature, Violence and Human Rights.
