The objective of the study is to present an interventionist approach as a research methodology, in order to understand and analyze how small businesses can practice managerial actions, and at the same time, apply them in practice. Actions that can contribute to the continuity of micro and small companies in scenarios of difficulties and uncertainties, such as this caused by COVID-19. A literature review was carried out, analyzing some studies on interventionist research in the management of Micro and Small Enterprises. It was found that the analyzed methodologies tend to be successful, and may even understand the causes and effects, both positive and negative, end up influencing the management of micro and small companies. All the analyzed cases presented satisfactory results, which indicates that this methodology can be an alternative that supports the management of micro and small companies in times of confrontation with Covid -19 and in the post-crisis.
