Assess the knowledge regarding smart phone usage among adolescent girls in cheyyar

Background: In today’s world digital technology changes so rapidly and integrates into our society at such an accelerated rate, it is hard to keep up with it, let alone reflect on the effects it has on our lives. Although Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, did not exist a mere decade ago, they are now ubiquitous forms of media and communication in our culture. Educate the students about the advantages and disadvantages of using smart phones. Aim of the study: Assess the knowledge regarding smart phone usage among adolescent girls in Cheyyar. Design: Descriptive design. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used. A total of 30 students participated in the study. Structured questionnaire was used to assess the level of knowledge regarding usage of smartphones for data collection. Result: The study revealed that out of 30 samples 20% were adequate knowledge, 10% were moderate knowledge. The study implies that a majority of adolescent girls were under the adequate knowledge on smart phones residing at cheyyar. Conclusion: The study indicates adequate knowledge were 33 moderate knowledge 73 the smart phone usage among adolescent girls.
