Aim of the study: To Assess the knowledge and practice regarding menstrual hygiene among womens in reproductive age group. Background: In the developing country like India, females are facing many menstruation related health problems, which are significant causes of morbidity, hampering daily life. Improper menstrual hygiene practices predispose the females towards many communicable diseases. Educating the people regarding menstrual hygiene and its practice helps to prevent the menstrual related health problems. Design: Descriptive design. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used. A total of 30 women in reproductive age group participated in the study. The knowledge and practice was assessed by using structured interview questionnaire and the practice was assessed by using checklist. Result: Regarding knowledge assessment majority of them 20(67%) had moderately adequate knowledge Regarding practice majority of them 20(67%) had average practice. Conclusion: The study revealed that though majority had moderate knowledge. Some of the women used clothes instead of perineal pads.Pictorial instructional module prepared by the investigator help the home worker to understand the infection caused by poor menstrual practices.
